Safeguarding the Confidentiality and Privacy of the Sessions
Therapy can be helpful when you are experiencing intrusive symptoms or things are becoming increasingly more overwhelming. If you are having second thoughts because you do not want to share private information with someone you just met, finding a committed and trustworthy counselor from a credible organization is the key.
“Trust” is a big word in counseling. It is the cornerstone of every successful relationship between a client and a counselor. Trust is often something that grows with time. This can be complicated when it comes to counseling where you are almost expected to share everything right off the bat. Carolina Counseling Services (CCS) contracts with therapists that understand trust and know that it takes time to build. CCS has a solid reputation in the field of counseling services in North Carolina, having served the community since 1994.
Trust CCS to Uphold the Highest Standards of Ethical Behavior
Your trust in CCS is well placed. Our contracted, licensed psychologists follow the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct established by the American Psychological Association (APA). Each Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) is required to adhere to the Code of Ethics approved for all members of the American Counseling Association, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are directed to observe the NASW Code of Ethics. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) follow IAMFC Code of Ethics.
CCS Values Confidentiality
We value confidentiality. This is why we make sure your private information and your sessions will be protected within the bounds of ethics and law. Your records will be secured from all unlawful and unauthorized entities, and will be inaccessible to anyone without authority or your knowledge.**
The confidentiality of every client is respected by every therapist contracted with Carolina Counseling Services.
** Please note, exceptions to this are by law, and are the same at any other counseling facility or practice in NC: imminent harm to someone, or suspected child or elder abuse, must be reported to the appropriate authorities.
CCS Values Your Trust
We value your trust; it is an important element of successful therapy. Thus, the goal of each therapist contracted with us is to work on building trust with each and every session. Trust goes a long way. Aside from peace of mind that your information is well guarded, it can also give you faith in the counseling process, which is essential for counseling to work effectively.
We value confidentiality because it is the foundation of your trust. We strive to communicate this with you as soon as we welcome you into our offices. CCS purposely provides a reassuring environment, evoking comfort and security, because we want trust to take root from your very first session with us.
