Can a therapist see two members of the same family?
Some therapists are able to see two members of the same family as individual clients. However, if the therapist believes there is a conflict of interest it may be best for each family member to have their own individual therapist. Family counseling is different, as only one member of the family is the identified client, and family members can choose to attend the session with the client. It is best to speak with your therapist about what may be the most effective for you and your family.
